BatesApex wins China Gold Effie

"BatesApex has won a Gold at the 2009 China Effies for its Chengdu City Re-branding Campaign."

This is also the first time that the category won Gold since the Effie Awards entered China in 2003.

Chengdu, the capital city of China’s Sichuan province sits in a strategic spot. It is a hot bed for Foreign Direct Investment and business. However, this changed when the fatal quake of 2008 struck. Although the city itself was unscathed, the quake had a huge impact, which left Chengdu with a confidence crisis and massive economic losses. 

To meet these challenges, the agency developed an integrated campaign targeted at locals, Chinese nationals and the investment community. As a result, the city has rebuild its reputation, and this has led to investments and growth in key sectors. Its GDP saw a healthy rise this year, despite the global economic recession.
